Nigel Bolding and I are getting on our bikes again to raise funds for the next phase of ColaLife – moving the learning from Zambia to other countries – and we’re hoping that many of our supporters will be able to sponsor us.
Whatever you can manage – every little helps. Our fundraising page is here: virginmoneygiving.com/ColaLife-C2C-2017 but you can also donate using non-online methods detailed here: colalife.org/donate
We last asked for your support seven years ago for the Boulogne to Biarritz ride (B2B) which raised £6,000. This money was spent setting things up in Zambia. Our work there has saved an estimated 1,000 lives. That’s 30-40 classrooms full of children. When we started fewer than 1% of children received the WHO/UNICEF recommended treatment for diarrhoea. Today the treatment – called Kit Yamoyo – is available nationwide in all the major supermarkets in Zambia and in 2,000 small community shops. Kit Yamoyo is manufactured and promoted locally. Soon ColaLife will be able to withdraw completely and Kit Yamoyo will be self-sustaining and saving lives forever.
We’re asking for your support again now: to provide the kick-start funding we need to transfer the learning and approach in Zambia to other countries and embed self-sustaining, life-saving activity there too.
The two of us are cycling from Caen to Cannes (C2C) starting on 22-Sep and covering 1,200km in 9 days. We’ve got a Facebook Group so that supporters can follow our progress and offer words of encouragement. That’s here: facebook.com/groups/colalife.c2c2017
Please give as generously as you can, and if you can’t, please lend your support via the Facebook group.
Many thanks
