What a great crowd of supporters came together last night at The Design Museum – to enjoy some good conversation, a grandstand view of Tower Bridge, SABMiller‘s famous beers and mince pies (courtesy of our Trustees). Grateful thanks are due to Civic Agenda who sponsored the venue.
We nearly missed it. Delayed on the tarmac for 5 hours in Lusaka, only to have the flight cancelled, we arrived to host the event by the skin of our teeth. A last minute switch to Emirates via Dubai got us into Heathrow and with the help of a generous London Cabby, we arrived at the Design Museum 40 minutes before our first guests.
For those of you who couldn’t make it, below is the presentation I gave including a video of the Kit Yamoyo demonstration. Click here to view it directly on Slideshare.
Coca-Cola Great Britain supplied us with about 100 limited edition aluminium Coca-Cola bottles – which we are giving out to promote our place on the Global Giving Challenge. We are in a race to see if we can win the most individual donors by 31st December, and stand to win $2,000 if we can. So please support us!
From 6am tomorrow morning (Thursday 20/12/12) until 5am Friday (UK time), there’s a race-within-a race: all donations received via GlobalGiving within this period will be matched at 15% whilst funds last, and the project with the most donors in this 24 hour time slot wins $1,000. So please pester your friends to help us tomorrow: pledge just $10 (by paypal or card); or spent $10 on a last minute Christmas Present of 10 AidPods – and you could help us win enough to co-fund ten or even a thousand Kit Yamoyo AidPods!
Tomorrow is the day!
