The KYTS Dashboard explained (Release 4)

Elias with tabletThis slide deck explains the latest release of the dashboard that calculates and displays the key performance indicators for the scale-up of Kit Yamoyo in Zambia. It has been under development and continual improvement since Jul-15 and this development can be seen here: colalife.org/dashboards. We thank Abbott Katz and DataKind for getting us started and supporting us in this process.

The data used to generate the dashboard is collected on Android tablets running the CommCare application which provides simple electronic forms that are completed during (or immediately after) support visits to retailers. Data collection works offline and the tablets synchronise with the CommCare server when the link to WiFi (or the mobile data network). CommCare is developed and supported by Dimagi.

We took a significant step on 18-Feb-16 when we brought all the field workers working on the scale-up together to discuss and agree targets and handed over the weekly production of the dashboard to Keepers Zambia Foundation (KZF). The dashboard is now produced weekly on a Friday and circulated with a commentary to KZF Managers who then cascade it to field workers.

As well as providing key management and monitoring information the dashboard is proving to be hugely motivational for the dispersed front-line team.

The weekly dashboards are published here: colalife.org/dashboards and you can download the slide deck below as a PDF file here (PDF 3 MB).

As always comments and suggestions are most welcome.
